Skid Conveyors

Skid Conveyors

Skid conveyors

Skid systems typically consist of a roller conveyor and a work piece carrier to hold the transported products. These systems are often used in the automotive industry, where engines, transmissions and body parts have to be transported. Skid systems are mainly operated with electrically driven roller conveyors.

Depending on the application of these transmission systems, different advantages can be listed, but in general, they are flexible, silent, fast, high-performance and very cost-effective. And from a more technical point of view, the following benefits can also be added:

  • Short installation time
  • Simple expansion options
  • Heavy loads
  • Modular design
  • A wide range of applications

It should always be noted that if the option of rapid expansion or change of systems should be kept open, skid conveyor systems are the right solution.

The wide range of products offered by the APQ company in the field of floor conveyors and in particular skid conveyors makes it possible to use specific and different combined solutions for each specific case, according to the needs of the project.

Cross Transfer equipment

Cross transfer is used as part of any suitable arrangement to transfer skids to other pathes or overhead conveyors such as EMS, P&F or ...

These equipments are tailor-made based on the layout of the shop, the specifications of the skids, the required speed, the required routes and other determining factors.

Eccentric lifters

Eccentric lifts are used to lift skids over small heights and are generally used in combination with cross transfers to move skids transversely. Synchronized with cardan shafts for accurate power distribution that allows equal buoyancy on both sides.

Turntables

Turntables are used for turning skids at any angles to facilitate transfer / orientation change. Alternatively a swivel table can also be used. Easy integration with lift table and roller table is possible.

The rotation angle of these systems can have rotation angles from 0 to 180 degrees, and also the axis of rotation can be in the center of the system or on the radius of the system, so that the required offset relative to the input and external conveyors is optimally provided.

Drop Lifters

Belt drop lifters are used to transport skids with a load of up to 1500 kg (Skid+Load) to heights of more than 6m. Two special belts are used as lifting elements, which make the operation smooth and silent. Unlike a chain lifter, no lubrication is required. Its unique column guide mechanism dampens vibrations and ensures high-speed transfers of up to 60 m/min. Special locking mechanisms can be provided to ensure very accurate intermediate stops.

Advantages of our drop lifters:

  • Frame design based on standard I-beams

  • Compact design - minimal depth due to internal roller guide and counterweights

  • Safety technology according to OEM-standards
